Amoung the best things of the day was the fact that everyone enjoyed themselves

They got to their stand just ten minutes before they were due to be judged, so it was a race against time for the pupils to begin with. They set themselves up well however and spent the morning explaining all of their past projects to judges and anyone who showed an interest. The also took part in the Technology Challenge. In a conference room adjacent to the room containing the showcases, various companies had set up stalls and devised a challenge for pupils to face. Each group had to tackle five of the challenges, and the most successful teams got through to the next round.

There was moments of heavy concentration during the technology challenges

There was a lunch break before the final of the technology challenge which the PHS group managed to get through to. Everyone was provided lunch which they ate on the stadium seats. Due to judges falling behind schedule in the morning, some of the PHS group had to keep on showcasing through lunch.

After another three challenges were met in the final of the Technology Challenge, there was a quick break before the day concluded and prizes were announced. Although PHS didn’t win any of the prizes for showcasing, they did win the Technology Challenge, receiving £500 and a brilliant engineering trophy. The £500 will be going towards buying new tools and equipment for the Engineering Club after everyone returns from their summer holidays.
